OREANDA-NEWS. November 09, 2015. Already Ford’s best-selling product in Puerto Rico, the new Ford Explorer received a warm welcome in its island debut.

Ford Puerto Rico teamed with a popular local singer to mark the local launch of the 2016 Explorer.

Among the 215 guests for the event at the El San Juan Resort and Casino were customers and prospective customers, members of the media and digital influencers, many of whom had participated in the previous week’s Ford-sponsored Blogger Convention and were attending their first Ford event.

The response was positive, with the technology-focused online magazine Qiibo terming the 3D mapping projection used in the introduction “very cool,” and fans of the automotive blog Wheels and Lipstick proclaiming it “beautiful” after blogger Glory Fernandez shared a picture on her Facebook page.

Revealed on a stage, 3D mapping allowed the Explorer to appear to be traveling through rural areas. “The Explorer in Puerto Rico has been one of the vehicles that defined the segment of SUVs as durable and spacious vehicles,” says Pablo Haase, regional director, Ford Caribbean and Central America. “Explorer is designed for the best family adventures, which is why it is the favorite SUV for multiple generations.”

Kany Garcia, who will help promote the Explorer through the rest of the year, sang several songs, as guests praised the combination. “Kany Garcia singing ‘Too Good,’ a perfect song to describe the 2016 Explorer,” notes travel blog Mundo Excursiones.

“I am extremely happy to return with those who have been collaborators and supporters of my career since day one,” says Garcia. “Ford, again, embraced my music with me in this beautiful way. I am grateful and very excited about this new link.”
