CLT Passenger Traffic Keeps Climbing
OREANDA-NEWS. Passenger traffic at CLT rose 1 percent to 33,716,968 travelers flying through CLT January - September 2015 compared to the same time period in 2014.
Operations remained steady with a 0.1 percent increase, overseeing 408,379 landings and departures January - September 2015.
Cargo activity inched up 1 percent to 100,223 tons of cargo transported through CLT during the first nine months of the year.
International passenger traffic, however, dipped to 2,309,214 fliers (January - September 2015) due to the previously announced realignment of international routes by American Airlines.
In September, new passenger service was added at the Airport. American Airlines launched a second daily flight to Portland, Maine on September 9, and United Airlines introduced nonstop service to Denver, Colorado on September 13.
