OREANDA-NEWS. BNP Paribas today announced that Andrea Munari is proposed as CEO and General Manager of BNL. The Nomination Committee of BNL, which operates within the Board of Directors and is composed by Roger Abravanel, as Chairman, Silvia Merlo and Mario Girotti as members, met today.

The Chairman of BNL, Luigi Abete, took part in the meeting and proposed, in agreement with the Shareholder BNP Paribas, to recruit Mr Andrea Munari as General Manager of BNL and to appoint him to the Board of Directors, conferring him the powers of CEO.

Andrea Munari will also be appointed Member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee and Head of the BNP Paribas Group in Italy.

The Nomination Committee examined the professional curriculum of Andrea Munari, CEO of  Credito Fondiario SpA,  former General  Manager of Banca IMI and long-standing Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and Barclays in London. He is currently Member of the Board of the London Stock Exchange and Deputy Chairman of Borsa Italiana.

The Nomination Committee strongly appreciated the vast international experience and important positions held by Mr. Munari, and thus resolved to propose to the Board of Directors, convened on 26 November, 2015, to recruit Andrea Munari as General Manager and to appoint him, at the same Board Meeting, as Member of the Board, consequently conferring him the powers of CEO.
