OREANDA-NEWS. The company Nissan that revived Datsun brand in 2014 for sale of budget cars in India, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa, to date, sold 114 thousand of such cars. Recall, the first Datsun GO sedan went on sale in the Indian market in March of the last year.

Since the start of sales in the Russian market from September of 2014 until the end of September 2015 it was sold 37,359 Datsun cars. Thus, Russia has occupied more than 30% of total sales of the brand, noted the analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT". Currently Datsun brand in the Russian market is presented by two models - sedan Datsun on-DO and hatchback mi-DO.

"Our expansion plans to increase the presence include the further growth in sales and development of service network in four existing markets, as well as the increasing of model range in India up to three units”, - said the head of the brand Datsun, Vincent Kobe. - We are also exploring business opportunities in other emerging markets around the world, including Africa."

Recall, recently the brand Datsun introduced the concept car Datsun GO-cross, which demonstrates the possible development of the model range of Datsun in emerging markets. If the new crossover will be put into production, then it will be able to create a new segment in the market niche and to attract new audience to Datsun brand, said in the company.
