After further improving its climate reporting and performance over the previous year, Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world's leading mail and logistics company, has received the highest CDP Climate Score rating for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). CDP awarded Deutsche Post DHL Group 100 points and included the company in the "Climate A-List" for both transparent reporting and performance in the area of climate protection. The annual rating is based on CDP's evaluation of the company's strategy, goals and actual emissions reductions as well as transparency and verification of reported data.
As the top-rated company in the transport sector in the DACH region, Deutsche Post DHL Group is among the top companies rated by CDP both regionally and worldwide. Listed in the CDP Index for the last six years, Deutsche Post DHL Group has continuously improved its CDP rating results. CDP Climate Score results for the DACH Region were presented today in Bonn.
"The results of the CDP rankings confirm our overall strategy as well as our goal to reduce emissions sustainably while maintaining the highest standards of transparency in our reporting. We are very pleased to have received the highest rating this year in both performance and transparency, and we now aspire to maintaining this high level," said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
Continuous improvement of transparency and performance
As part of its corporate strategy "Strategy 2020" the Group works continuously to improve both transparency and performance in the area of climate change, with the goal of becoming a benchmark company for responsible business in the eyes of investors and other stakeholders.
"CDP congratulates Deutsche Post DHL Group on its inclusion in the CDP Climate A List and for achieving the highest CDP Climate Score of 100 A," said Susan Dreyer, who is DACH Region Director at CDP. This year only 113 out of more than 2,000 listed companies worldwide made it onto the CDP Climate A List."
A non-profit organization, CDP compiles data on the climate protection activities of thousands of companies worldwide and motivates these companies to maintain their commitment to climate protection. The CDP Climate Score is one of the leading environmental rankings worldwide. In 2015, it began analyzing companies by region.
The goal of Deutsche Post DHL Group's environmental program GoGreen is to minimize the impact of its business activity on the environment with a primary focus on carbon emissions. So far the Group has improved its carbon efficiency by 23%.
