OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2015. MAN has received top scores for transparency and measures in fighting climate change and once more holds a top position in the key global climate protection index compiled by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

The Company scored the maximum of 100 points in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). In addition, MAN has been awarded an ‘A minus’ performance rating for the measures it has introduced, the progress it has already made, and the planned strategies for reducing CO2 emissions.

“With a score of ‘100 A minus,’ MAN SE has reached the status of ‘Sector Leader Industrials’ in climate-change reporting for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2015. This ranks MAN among the ten best companies of this industry in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland,” says Susan Dreyer, Director of CDP’s German, Austrian, and Swiss region.

“We are very pleased to again be included in this important index,” says Josef Schelchshorn, Chief Human Resources Officer at MAN SE in charge of Corporate Responsibility. “Climate protection and dealing with the ramifications of climate change remain a long-term task in terms of politics, society, and economy. Against this backdrop, MAN will be closely following the developments at the UN COP 21 climate conference in Paris.”

The international non-profit organization CDP publishes its annual report on climate change commissioned by 822 investors with assets worth €86 trillion. More than 5,500 of the world’s companies with almost 800 of them in Europe have disclosed environment-related data via CDP in 2015. Today, the organization holds the largest collection globally of self-reported climate change, water, and forest-risk data. With this data, CDP enables decision-makers to include the factor of natural capital into their decision-making process regarding strategy, business, investment, and policies.
