OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2015. Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. is off to a solid start to the fourth quarter as customer response to new Ford and Lincoln models continues to drive sales, making Ford the number one selling brand in Canada year-to-date.

“Ford continues to deliver a full line up of quality, safe, smart and fuel efficient vehicles that Canadian consumers want,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “Customers have responded in our showrooms across the country, whether they’re looking for a small, compact car like the Ford Focus, a sporty, unstoppable SUV like the Ford Explorer, or a tough, capable truck like the Ford F-150.”

Total car sales increased three per cent in October driven by sales of Ford Focus, Ford Mustang, and Ford Fusion.  Sales were up 17 per cent, 45 per cent and three per cent respectively.  This makes for the eighth consecutive month of sales increases for the Mustang.

The new Ford Explorer, which hit showroom floors in June, continues to be unstoppable, with sales increasing 33 per cent and five months of consecutive sales growth. Ford Flex sales were up seven per cent and Ford Expedition sales increased by three per cent.
F-Series had another strong month with sales up two per cent to kick off the fourth quarter.

Lincoln luxury brand sales grew five per cent, driven by sales of the Lincoln MKX, up 64 per cent, and the Lincoln MKZ, up 14 per cent.

“Sales of the all-new Canadian-built Lincoln MKX have increased since the new model hit showroom floors,” said Craig. “Consumers looking for a luxury vehicle appreciate the thoughtful, elegant design and safe, effortless ride Lincoln has to offer.”
