OREANDA-NEWS.  FCA posted October sales in Italy of 36,700 vehicles, representing a 10.8% year-over-year increase and outpacing the industry average (+8.6%) for the tenth consecutive month. Market share was up 60 basis points to 27.6%. The Jeep brand maintained its momentum, with sales up 102.2% for the month (to nearly 2,600 vehicles) and 234.6% for the year-to-date. The Fiat brand posted a 16% increase, with continued strong performance for the Panda (market leader) and the 500 family (500X and 500L segment leaders). A total of five FCA models – Fiat Panda, Fiat Punto, Lancia Ypsilon, Fiat 500X and Fiat 500L – ranked in the top ten for the month.

For the month of October, new vehicle registrations in Italy were up 8.6% year-overyear to nearly 133,000 units. For the ten months year-to-date, new registrations were up 14.7% to 1,330,000 units.

FCA outperformed the industry average for the tenth consecutive month, with October sales in Italy up 10.8% to nearly 36,700 vehicles and market share 60 basis points higher at 27.6%. For the year-to-date, Group sales were up 16.9% (also above the industry average) to 376,000 vehicles and share was 50 basis points higher at 28.3%. In October, five FCA models ranked in the Italian top ten. These included the Fiat Panda, which remained overall market leader, followed by the Fiat Punto and the Lancia Ypsilon (second and third, respectively) and the 500X and 500L.

Fiat brand posted a 16.0% year-over-year increase (outpacing the industry average), with October sales reaching nearly 27,700 vehicles and market share 130 basis points higher at 20.8%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 278,000 vehicles (+14.5% versus JanuaryOctober 2014) and market share was unchanged at 20.9%. All brand models posted another month of strong sales performances. The Panda continued as overall leader, with the Punto in second place. The 500L and 500X also ranked in the top ten, as well as being leaders for the month in their respective segments.

Lancia posted October sales of just under 4,200 vehicles with market share at 3.15%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 48,000 vehicles with market share at 3.6%. The all-new, fifth generation Lancia Ypsilon has already made its mark, ranking as the third best selling car in Italy for the month.

Alfa Romeo posted October sales of just under 2,300 vehicles with market share at 1.7%. For the year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 26,000 vehicles and market share was 1.95%.

Jeep posted another outstanding performance with October sales up 102.2% to nearly 2,600 units and share increasing 90 basis points to 1.9%. Year-to-date, brand sales were up 234.6% to 24,700 units, driven by the success of the Jeep Renegade, and share was 60 basis points higher at 1.9%.
