PM says Government proposes to peg heating bill to outside temperature
OREANDA-NEWS. November 05, 2015. There is a working group in the Government that develops a mechanism aimed at pegging heating bills to the outside temperature. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed about this in his Ten Minutes address to the citizens.
"It should be the responsibility of the heating utility companies – to decrease consumption of natural gas, to reduce the temperature of the coolant and thus to lower the costs of heating your homes and not to heat the atmosphere at your expense," the Prime Minister appealed to citizens.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has stressed that now it does not matter what’s the temperature outside - "if batteries are overheated, we open windows, and, therefore, our bills contain heating of the atmosphere": "It is because the heating utility companies are interested in burning as much gas as possible in order to present as large a bill as possible."
"The Government proposes to peg the bill, receiving by citizens, to the outside temperature," he stressed.
The Prime Minister has informed that the working group is working on the adoption of a corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
