OREANDA-NEWS. Ford Brazil held this week, in S?o Paulo, the Research and Advancement Seminar in Vehicle Safety, with the participation of 150 journalists and bloggers and Ford specialists.

The goal of the event was to discuss this item which, nowadays, is the most important for consumers when they acquire a vehicle, as well as debating the integrated vision of the company concerning the progress in vehicle safety, including new technologies, electrification systems, connected cars and completely autonomous vehicles that may hit the market in the next five years.

Thomas, who heads the area of automated driving of the Advanced Engineering and Research of Ford Europa in Aachen, Germany, presented current and future technologies which will lead the way to meet new tendencies of the automobile market such as, for example, autonomous cars. “Besides these technologies, the viability of autonomous vehicles depends primarily on high definition maps and infrastructure”, said the expert.

Jo?o Filho, Engineering Director of Ford South America, highlighted safety technologies that are already used in Ford’s vehicles in Brazil: Emergency Assistance, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control (TCS), Active City Stop, among others “Our goal is to popularize safety technologies for vehicles, therefore, we provide many of them starting from the entry models, such as Ka, which is a reference in the segment”, said the engineer.
