OREANDA-NEWS. Over 9 months of 2015, the volume of goods in boxcars carried by Joint Stock Company Freight One (Freight One) via the Russian Railways network totaled more than 7.2 mln tons, up 1.4% YoY. Cargo turnover in the segment increased 0.4%, reaching 16.9 bln tkm. Freight One's share in the total boxcar volume on the Russian Railways network grew from 23.7% to 25%.

In particular, the volumes of non-ferrous metals increased 54% YoY to 881 thou tons; chemical and sodium bicarbonate volumes grew 7.7% YoY to 727 thou tons, grain volumes grew 74% YoY, reaching 178.5 thou tons; oil meal and cake grew 20.5% YoY to 69 thou tons; and perishable goods went up 75% YoY, totaling 43 thou tons.

Cargo volumes inside Russia in Freight One railcars over the said period totaled more than 4.6 mln tons, export volumes amounted to 2.2 mln tons, imports totaled 255 thou tons.

"We managed to improve operating performance by implementing customer-focused service technologies and developing relevant competencies of commercial block employees. Targeted professional efforts to build up the cargo base in boxcars and continuous refining on customizable service packages have allowed us to improve railcar fleet management and increase traffic profitability," said Alexander Sapronov, Executive Director of Freight One.
