OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2015. The production of passenger cars in Russia in 2015 could be reduced by 21.2% compared to the last year. These data are presented in the forecast of socio-economic development that was made by the Ministry of Economic Development and submitted to the Duma together with the budget for the next year.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the country produced 1.7 million passenger cars the last year, and by the end of this year, their production could be reduced by 360 thousand units, up to 1.34 million. In 2016, the Ministry expects the conservation of production volumes at the level of this year, writes "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

"Therewith, it is expected the increase of production of passenger cars in the medium term - written in the forecast. – “In 2018 in relation to 2015 it will be 19.8%, and the dynamics will be provided with the growth of real disposable income of population, as well as additional measures of state support".

As for the trucks, according to the Ministry, their production in 2015 could fall by 19.7% up to 124 thousand. At the same time, they hope to keep the production volumes of this year in this segment in 2016.

Cut of production and sales of trucks in the Ministry is explained by the decline in business turnover of motor transport. "Therewith, in 2016-2018 years it could grow by 4.5% - predicted in Ministry of economic development - and additional measures of state support for the auto industry will contribute to an increase in truck production in 2018 in compare with 2015 by 16.3%".
