ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has won the Grand Prize in the Traveler/Services/Trading Companies Category at the 64th Nikkei Advertising Awards hosted by the Nikkei Inc. This is the second consecutive award following the Grand Prize ITOCHU received last year.

ITOCHU was awarded the prize for the “Corporate Message: I am One with Infinite Missions” series, which consist of six advertisements that were printed from October 6, 2014 to April 20, 2015. The work incorporates a new method of communicating a message that has never been seen before, such as attaching Japanese characters to represent the reading of Chinese characters in text, while making it easy for readers to understand the Company’s special characteristic of having strength in lifestyle and consumer-related fields.

ITOCHU will continue to create corporate advertisements that everyone can identify with and improve the value of the ITOCHU brand even more as it humbly seeks the support of its stakeholders.

  • Nikkei Advertising Awards, which started in 1952, are Japan’s representative advertising awards. This year is the 64th year.
  • Exceptional works out of the advertisements printed in the Nikkei from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015 were awarded for being ahead of the times and a trailblazer for setting trends in advertising going forward. For this year’s Nikkei Advertising Awards, 62 prizes were awarded out of a total of 1,384 advertisements that were evaluated.
