OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2015. GM-AvtoVAZ began the shipping to dealers of cars Chevrolet Niva that meet emissions standard Euro-5. The first of these SUVs will be at dealers of Izhevsk, Tomsk, Omsk and Togliatti, informed the press service of the joint venture.

Recall, a complete transition to a production of cars Chevrolet Niva that meet emissions standard Euro-5 occurred at GM-AVTOVAZ on October 12, 2015. Work on the calibration of the engine under the new emission standard was held by Bosch - a developer and supplier of the controller of Chevrolet Niva. Experience of specialists of Bosch and engineers of GM-AvtoVAZ allowed us to carry out calibration of the engine under higher rates of toxicity without reducing the dispersal of power characteristics of the engine. With the transition of Chevrolet Niva to Euro 5 the engineers, in particular, managed to reduce fuel consumption (2-4% depending on the operating mode) and to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. In addition, by optimizing the work of the throttle (electronic pedal instead of the cable drive) reduced significantly the pulsation of transmission.

For the first nine months of 2015 the conveyor of GM-AVTOVAZ produced 26,190 vehicles, which is less by 22.6% than the year before (33830 units). According to the press-service of the joint venture, in the reporting period GM-AvtoVAZ sold Russian dealers 24,550 Chevrolet Niva (-25,7%). Currently, the price of Chevrolet Niva is from 539 000 to 641 thousand rubles, depending on the configuration.
