New Lincoln MKX Officially Launches in China, Expands Offering in Medium-Large Utility Segment
OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2015. Lincoln recently launched the new Lincoln MKX, a medium-large-sized utility, in 18 Lincoln Stores located in 15 cities across China. The stunning MKX comes in four models: the Select, the Reserve, the Preferred and the Presidential Series, with prices at CNY 449,800, CNY 499,800, CNY 559,800 and CNY 659,800 respectively.
The medium-large-sized utility is one of the most popular segments within China’s premium automotive market. The segment currently represents 16.8 percent of the market, and is expected to expand to 18.3 percent of the market by 2018.
“Today marks another exciting milestone for the Lincoln brand,” said Robert Parker, president, Lincoln China. “The launch of Lincoln MKX allows us to compete in the growing medium-large utility segment in China. The new Lincoln MKX joins the small premium utility Lincoln MKC, and the Lincoln MKZ sedan to expand the brand’s unique product offering and personalized ownership experience through The Lincoln Way.”
Spaciousness, Effortless Ride and Outstanding Technologies
With customers in mind in every detail, the new MKX is designed to offer a class-leading exterior and interior space, effortless and personalized ride, as well as outstanding and intuitive technologies.
The MKX boasts class-leading exterior dimensions and interior cabin volume, along with unparalleled rear-seat legroom and headroom. It also promises superior performance with its powerful but quiet EcoBoost® engine.
The driver and passenger experience is further enhanced with an array of intuitive, customer-centered technologies, including a Revel® sound system and dozens of assistive driving features bringing additional safety.
In addition to Modern Heritage and Indulgence, two new themes will join the MKX Presidential Series: Muse, inspired by the fashion, lifestyle and art scenes of Paris in 1920s, and the Thoroughbred theme, motivated by the excitement, passion and pageantry of high-stakes horse racing.
The Lincoln Way Drives Lincoln Growth in China
One year after its launch in China, the Lincoln brand is on track to have 25 dealerships by the end of 2015 and a network of 60 Lincoln Stores in 50 cities by the end of 2016. At the heart of Lincoln’s growth in China is the one-size-fits-one ownership experience of The Lincoln Way. The warm, welcoming and personalized retailing approach that Lincoln adopts in China is brought to life at every customer touch point, from the ambience of the Lincoln Stores to every step of the customer journey throughout the buying and ownership experience.
To meet the needs of Lincoln customers anywhere anytime in China’s increasingly digital age, Lincoln China unveiled The Virtual Lincoln Way. When fully implemented, the initiative will allow customers to manage everything from touring a Lincoln Store, to taking possession of their new vehicles online. The extension of The Lincoln Way into the virtual world, the first such attempt in the automotive retail space, is another significant step that Lincoln is taking in China. The move hopes to better serve the country’s evolving luxury customers and further solidify Lincoln’s unique positioning in this market.
“Backed by Lincoln’s rich heritage, we have been able to position ourselves as a unique, premium option for the progressive luxury buyers in China,” said Parker. “We continue our expansion plans, both virtually and in new facilities throughout China, as we approach our one year anniversary in China. Our goal remains to deliver superior customer satisfaction throughout the shopping, buying and ownership experience.”
In addition to the Lincoln MKC, the Lincoln MKZ and the Lincoln MKX, Lincoln will be bringing the full-size luxury SUV Lincoln Navigator, which will arrive at Lincoln Stores later this year, and the much-anticipated Lincoln Continental, Lincoln’s full-size sedan, which will come to China in 2016.
