OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2015. The New York Mets are headed to the World Series for the fifth time in franchise history after sweeping the Chicago Cubs with an 8-3 win in game 4 of the NLCS last night.

Perhaps it was the Delta Difference that propelled their success – in addition to phenomenal pitching and hitting, of course.

As the Official Airline of the New York Mets, Delta flies the team to and from away games throughout the regular season and the playoffs – and has been cheering them on all year, but lately with some additional enthusiasm.

The airline kicked off the celebration of the Mets’ return to the postseason by unveiling a Mets-branded Boeing 757 at New York-JFK on Oct. 6. Since then, Delta has been supporting the Mets with balloons, co-branded pop-up banners and table tents at the airports, while passengers on select flights have been treated to co-branded luggage tags and rally towels. In fact, all Delta flights from New York to Chicago yesterday were equipped with rally towels on every seat. And even more fun is in the works for the World Series.

Earlier this month, the airline announced that it will renew its team sponsorship agreement, extending Delta’s designation as the Official Airline and Official Private Jet Carrier of the New York Mets through 2023.
