OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2015. Bhlaraidh wind farm is officially “Open4Business” as SSE prepares to host a drop-in day for local firms in Glenmoriston.

The event will provide information on possible supply chain opportunities available through the construction of the Bhlaraidh wind farm, located on the Glenmoriston Estate north-west of Invermoriston in the Great Glen. The 32 turbine wind farm is due to begin main construction in Spring 2016, with enabling works currently underway.

The Bhlaraidh Wind Farm Open4Business event will be held in a drop-in format from 10am – 2pm on Wednesday 4th November 2015 at the Glenmoriston Millennium Hall, Invermoriston.

Billy Jack, Construction Project Manager for Bhlaraidh, said: “The construction of the Bhlaraidh wind farm is expected to bring a number of socio economic benefits to the Great Glen area including opportunities for local businesses and a total community benefit fund of ?160,000 per annum.

“We look forward to welcoming local companies of all kinds along to the event. Representatives from SSE Renewables, SSE’s Open4Business team and our contractor RJ McLeod, will be on hand to answer any questions on the day. Businesses of all kinds, from accommodation suppliers to local tradesmen, are encouraged to attend.”
