Key functional appointments strengthen Manulife Asset Management’s Asia wealth and asset management franchise
OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2015. Manulife Asset Management today announced the appointment of Grace Ho as Chief Marketing Officer, Wealth and Asset Management, Asia and Frederick Reidenbach as Chief Financial Officer, Wealth and Asset Management, Asia. Both positions are newly created to support the continued integration and growth of the wealth and asset management organisation in Asia.
Grace is responsible for developing and driving marketing strategy to raise awareness of the company’s brand and investment capabilities across retail and institutional channels in Asia. She will lead the marketing and investment communications function to produce innovative thought leadership and marketing campaigns, oversee the expansion of the company’s digital strategy and support key business development initiatives across Asia.
With extensive marketing and communications professional experience, Grace brings to the table a deep knowledge of financial services industry strategy. Prior to joining Manulife Asset Management, Grace was the Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific, for Schroders in Hong Kong. Previously she held various key marketing management positions with leading financial institutes in Asia.
Frederick leads the finance, control and reporting functions for Manulife’s wealth and asset management organisation in Asia. He acts as a strategic advisor to the general managers of the combined organisation and provides financial leadership, decision support and value-added financial reporting and analysis to facilitate strategic decision making in the region .
An industry veteran with 32 years of professional experience, Frederick has an appreciation for the global wealth and asset management industry, in particular in Asian markets. Prior to Manulife Asset Management, he spent 10 years with Nikko Asset Management in Japan where he was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Japan. Previous to this, he held several senior roles with Fidelity Worldwide Investments in Japan. Frederick also worked at Smith Barney after having begun his career with Coopers & Lybrand in New York.
Grace and Frederick join Manulife Asset Management following the recent appointments of Shirley Lam as Head of Affiliate Wealth and Bruno Lee as Head of Partnership, Product and Platform Development for Wealth and Asset Management, Asia. Collectively these appointments position the company well to serve as a “one-stop shop,” meeting investor needs for mutual funds, pension management and investment-linked insurance products across Asia.
