CAF and the Scholas Foundation signed an agreement for the social inclusion and education of children and adolescents in the entire region.
OREANDA-NEWS. Enrique Garcia, executive president of CAF -development bank of Latin America, and Jose Maria del Corral, global director of the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation, signed a cooperation agreement that seeks to boost actions for social integration projects that focus on education in the countries of the region.
Pope Francis, promoter of the Scholas experience since being an Archbishop in Buenos Aires, was an honorary witness of the signing of this agreement that seeks to improve the quality of life of children and adolescents in situations of poverty and vulnerability.
"I thank you all for the help that you are offering for this project that started when I was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, and that includes children of all social levels, all religions and of public and private schools, igniting the hope that they need to continue building a better world," the Pope stated and he added
"In Argentina the education agreement was broken and this project helped put it back together. What we see is that this crisis is present all over the world, that's why I once again thank you for all that you're doing to bring this experience to all the countries in the region."
During the signing of the agreement, the executive president of CAF -addressing Pope Francis- expressed, "I congratulate your Holiness for this Scholas Occurrentes initiative, for the good that it's going to do in our countries of this region. The proposal to bring children and adolescents together through sports, art and technology, as you suggested, is the right path. We will cooperate in the expansion of this experience of Scholas and will help you in such a wonderful mission," reiterated Enrique Garcia.
The global director of the Foundation noted that the initiative promotes the establishment of school projects that encourage the development of human creativity and interpersonal ties through cooperative work and the integration of biodiversity through projects that link different disciplines. "This alliance between CAF and Scholas will give new momentum to the programs which our organization is promoting in different countries of Latin America." Our goal is to redefine what education means and that is why we propose new ways to take advantage of sports, art, and technology in order to achieve a leap in the quality and spiritual impact of education among those young people who are most vulnerable," said Jose Maria del Corral.
