OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2015. Indianapolis plays host to many things – the Indianapolis 500, the biggest children’s museum in the world, and the delicious tenderloin sandwich. But Indianapolis is also the second largest Salesforce hub outside our San Francisco HQ! We love bringing our Hoosier hospitality to work with us every day, and here are a few other reasons why we love working for Salesforce #TeamIndy.

1. We love giving back.

Giving back is part of the core DNA of Salesforce. Through the Foundation, Salesforce has strong partnerships with many organizations, like James Russell Lowell IPS School 51, Habitat for Humanity, DonorsChoose.org, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis. Just this past August, Salesforce Indy donated \\$50,000 worth of iPads and MacBooks and 5,000 volunteer hours to James Russell Lowell School 51. In May, Salesforce donated \\$100,000 to fulfill every request for Indianapolis-area schools through DonorsChoose.org.

And we don’t just give as a whole – our employees are also volunteering rockstars. As of September, 75 Indy employees have received their Champions Grant, and we’ve logged over 16,000 volunteer hours! Giving back is based on the Salesforce integrated philanthropy model, known as the the 1-1-1 model as 1% of product, 1% of founding equity, and 1% of employees' time are giving back to the community.

2. We host the Digital Marketing Event of the Year.

Marketing Cloud plays host to Connections, going strong since 2007. Over the past eight years, we’ve welcomed amazing speakers such as Mindy Kaling, Condoleeza Rice, and Michael J. Fox, and musical entertainment from will.i.am, The Avett Brothers, Katy Perry, and more. Connections is attended by the world’s leading brands and offers marketers inspirational keynotes, educational breakouts, and world-class entertainment and networking.

Join us next year as we hit the road for Connections 2016 in Atlanta, May 10 –12.

3. Our Women are Inspired – and Inspiring

Salesforce is a strong supporter of women’s equality, and we definitely have the same support and spirit in Indianapolis! Our WIN (Women’s Inspiration Network) & Wine events are a big hit. Last month, Amanda Leet, VP Marketing, and Tim Horoho, SVP Global Infrastructure & Support, lead a great professional development discussion on giving and receiving feedback. We also have several employee-led groups dedicated to advancing women’s careers and giving back to women-focused organizations. Our local chapter of Girl Develop It, lead by female Marketing Cloud developers and engineers, holds monthly workshops teaching women software and web development.

4. We Work Hard and Play Hard

Outside of work, we love to hang out with each other! A longtime favorite in the Indy hub is FunForce – that’s right, a group dedicated to making sure we have plenty of fun gatherings outside the office. We host unique events like a yearly golf outing, picnics, talent shows, and home brew competitions!
