Mercedes-Benz remains the leader of the premium segment in Russia
Despite the negative trend (-11.7%) the segment leader remains Mercedes-Benz, which in January-September 2015 was able to sell in Russia 32178 cars. BMW is in the second place, which sold slightly more than 21 thousand cars, and the third place is kept by Audi, which sold almost 19 thousand vehicles (-26.3%).
The most dynamic premium brand in the Russian market is still Porsche. For 9 months of 2015 the new owners of "Porsche" were 4011 Russians that almost a third (+30.3%) more than in the same period of the last year (3079 units).
The Japanese brand Lexus grows in relation to the last year (+ 9,9%), which, with sales of 15,186 cars occupies confidently the 4th place. The Japanese Acura is also in a small plus (+ 2%) but the absolute number of sold cars of this brand is extremely small (562 units).
Overall, the share of car segment «Premium» now has 9.9% of the total market. That is, every ten car that is sold in Russia in 2015 - was the premium brand. Last year the premium brands had only 8.3% of the market, and until 2008 their share was less than 5%.
