OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2015. Doosan Infracore (CEO Dongyoun Sohn) announced its participation in the “EMO 2015” (Exposition Mondiale de la Machine Outil) held in Milan, Italy.

The EMO is one of the world’s four biggest trade shows for the metal working industry along with the IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) of the USA, the CIMT (China International Machine Tool Show) of China, and JIMTOF (Japan International Machine Tool Fair) of Japan. The biennial EMO is held alternately in Hanover, Germany and Milan, Italy in odd-numbered years. The EMO Milano 2015 will be joined by 1,600 companies from 40 countries, with more than 150,000 visitors anticipated.

Doosan Infracore will introduce 22 types of cutting-edge machine tools in total, including 11 new products, in its large exhibition area (1,720m2). Most notably, Doosan Infracore has already launched its 5-axis horizontal machining center (DHF 8000), the first of its kind in Korea, at the exhibition. Among the new product’s numerous competitive edges is the fact that it is designed specifically for the high-precision machining of extremely complex work pieces, such as aviation engine parts, with a single setting.

Doosan Infracore is also introducing unique smart monitoring technology designed to enable the user to monitor not only all the machine tools on display at the exhibition but also any number of machine tools displayed at the company's Changwon plant in real time. The technology forms part of the company's smart factory services.

In the meantime, Doosan Infracore is doing quite well in Europe, which only began to show signs of slow recovery from the global economic recession in 2014. Notably, the company now occupies the biggest market share in both the U.K. and Italy, having achieved a whopping cumulative sales total of 10,000 machine tools in a single market (Italy) in 2014.

"Europe is the world's biggest market in terms of machine tools, automation and intellectualization for the aviation and auto industries," said an official of Doosan Infracore. "We have placed particular emphasis on displaying our top-tier products at the trade fair in the areas of multi-tasking and large-size machine tools, along with our diverse top-tier automation solutions, with the aim of further expanding our market share on the continent."
