OREANDA-NEWS. Doosan Corporation announced on September 16 it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul Design Foundation, the operator of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), for the development of the Dongdaemun district. The signing of the MOU aims to promote the fashion industry, invigorate the local night markets, identify and nurture young designers and attract foreign tourists.

The signing was held in the presence of about a dozen of people including Doosan Corporation Business Division Hyunsoo Dong and Seoul Design Foundatoin CEO Keun Lee at Doosan Tower in central Seoul.

Seoul Design Foundation, an organization under the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is established to enhance citizen service design capabilities, promote the creative design industry and spur the growth of the local economy. It is also the operator of DDP.

“To promote the local economy of Dongdaemun, we will closely cooperate with each other in a wide range of areas including decreasing traffic congestion, promoting night shopping, vitalizing the local community, organizing cultural events, expanding the Korean food areas and supporting the traditional cultural events in Dongdaemun,” a relevant person of Doosan said.
