OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2015. MSA, Czech valve manufacturer has supplied bellows valves dia. 6’’, Class 300 to the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, the sole facility of such kind in Hungary.

The job order was quite challenging, as it demanded a tight supply time-frame. The valves had to be manufactured and shipped within one month, while the plant’s power-generating unit was shut down.

Bellows valves of stop and control-type design are part of the MSA’s range of products intended for the nuclear power industry. These valves can be operated at high temperatures up to 350° С, in radioactive environment (with high-integrity design) and in chemical applications, for instance.
“Since 2000, MSA has been a traditional valve supplier for the Paks Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary. This job order has been quite demanding in terms of tight schedule. Normally, it takes half a year to fabricate valves for nuclear plants. However, we have managed to produce and thoroughly test the valves, and supplied them ahead of the schedule - one month”, says Vladimir Kononov, Rimera Group's Executive Director, Chairman of the MSA Board.

Since 1975, the Czech plant (part of Rimera Group) has also been a traditional supplier of valves for the Russian nuclear power industry. Today, virtually all the nuclear plants in Russia are equipped with MSA products: Leningrad, Kursk, Rostov, Smolensk and many other power facilities. The annual scope of MSA supplies for the Russian nuclear power industry is worth several million euros.
