OREANDA-NEWS. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will debut the MITSUBISHI eX Concept compact SUV concept car with a next-generation EV system at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015.

The concept car is a showcase of MMC's next-generation electric vehicle (EV) technologies, a new take on the Dynamic Shield front design concept, as well as a vast range of other technologies for superior driving pleasure in a compact crossover package. The entire booth, featuring the MITSUBISHI eX Concept reflects the main theme of Driving Beyond - Another Step Forward With SUVs and Electric Power.

Elegance + SUV + 100% Electric
The MITSUBISHI eX Concept is a vision for a unique 100% electric-powered compact SUV aimed at the fast-growing compact SUV market. It uses MMC's state-of-the art electric-powered technologies and all-wheel control technologies combined with automated driving technologies, connected car technologies, and active safety technologies.

Both exterior and interior indicate the direction MMC Design is taking. Overall, it evokes the image of a sporty crossover zipping nimbly around town as it merges the elegance and stylishness of a "shooting brake" (a term for a coupe with flowing styling fused with a hatchback car, the term originates from British hunting-use horse carriages) with compact SUV lines. The front end is a new interpretation of the Dynamic Shield front design concept.

State-of-the-art Plug-in Hybrid EV Technology and Versatility
The Outlander PHEV area includes a model Outlander PHEV chassis which demonstrates the technical features of Plug-in Hybrid EV and Twin Motor 4WD systems in an easily understandable manner. In addition there is a diorama of a virtual community using V2X*3 systems which supply electric power from the Outlander PHEV's drive battery to the home and others, visualizing the versatility and possibilities of electric-powered vehicles.
