The Fitch Ratings International Agency affirmed Moscow Domodedovo Airport credit rating at ‘ВВ+’
Taking into account the situation with corporate restructuring of Transaero airlines, Moscow Domodedovo Airport expects the same changes in the passenger traffic dynamics as it was forecasted earlier.
It should be noted that during the incoming winter season there might be changes in the most part of Transaero flights from Domodedovo: these flights will be operated by another airlines among partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Furthermore, the positive effect connects with the fact that some airlines are going to increase their presence at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. According to the Airport’s estimates, the above-mentioned fact will allow to operate more than 75% of Transaero flights scheduled in the previous winter season.
The negative passenger traffic trend can be possible just on a few amount of directions operated by Transaero that are unique for Domodedovo Airport. The share of these directions in the route network of Moscow Domodedovo Airport is less than 1%. At the same time other airlines among Moscow Domodedovo Airport partners will operate flights in the similar number of unique directions.
Moreover, the positive factors connect with the capacity increase of the basic carriers of Moscow Domodedovo Airport as well. According to the preliminary forecast the increment of growth will be up to 35%.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest aviation harbor in Russia, the airport served for 33.04 million people in 2014. It is the best airport in Russia and CIS according to Skytrax. Leading airline alliance members such as Star Alliance and oneworld chosen Domodedovo for flights to Moscow.
