Under the government decision, the State Enterprise „Centrul de Carantină, Identificare, Expertize de Arbitraj și Dezinfectare a Producției” (Centre of Quarantine, Identification, Arbitration Expertizes and Production Disinfection) will be reorganised, by merging (absorption) of the state enterprise „Centrul de Stat pentru Certificarea Materialului Semincer” (State Centre for Certification of Seed Material) and State Enterprise „Centrul de Standardizare si Stabilire a Calitatii Nutreturilor si Produselor Cerealiere” (Centre of Standardisation and Establishing of Quality of Fodder and Cereal Products). The new institution will be named the State Enterprise „Centrul Național de Verificare și Certificare a Producției Vegetale și Solului” (National Centre for Verification and Certification of Vegetable Products and Soil).

The decision is meant to optimize the administrative cost of the state enterprises and provide centralised services to beneficiaries.

The reorganisation will allow relocation of laboratories of the aforementioned enterprises into a single block, that will diminish expenses of economic agents, who will no longer have to go to three different laboratories, in order to benefit from expertise.

The decision fits into a string of actions, in the context of implementation of the Food Safety Strategy for 2011–2015, as well as the National Strategy on Agricultural and Rural Development for 2014–2020.
