OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2015. Delta Air Lines flights were cancelled less and arrived more on-time than any of the 13 U.S. airlines that report statistics to the U.S. government in August,[1] according to the Department of Transportation in its monthly Air Travel Consumer Report out Thursday.

Completion factor ran at 99.9 percent and on-time arrivals within 14 minutes of schedule, the DOT’s metric, clocked-in at 85.5 percent.

Mishandled baggage reports per 1,000 passengers finished at 2.43, third place of the 13 DOT-reporting carriers but first among the four airlines that carried the most passengers during the month[2].

Internally, Delta maintains a competitive set of Alaska Airlines, American Airlines/US Airways, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines in respect to a monthly employee performance bonus program in completion factor, on-time arrivals and baggage handling.
