UT: Vega fund gives 36 000€ to science-based business ideas
OREANDA-NEWS. Do you have a science-based business idea but you do not have any money to start? Do you want to help to launch next revolutionary product or service? Vega fund, created in co-operation between SEB bank and the Universiy of Tartu, supports early stage science-based innovative business ideas with 36 000 euros.
Applications are opened to:
1. A team of students or scientists who already have an innovative science-based solution to a common problem.
Vega helps to develop a service or a product and launch it on the market. Application can be submitted at http://vega.ut.ee/#application
Application is opened to small and large scale projects from all walks of life. The best project will be sponsored with 10 000 euros
2. Students from all walks of life who do not have an idea but would like to help launch pre-existing science-based idea.
Application is opened to Vega teams fund which grants 12 000 euros stipend to the best team. Vega will form interdisciplinary teams of four. Together with the help of mentors, teams have to develop one Estonian scientists’ research into a product or a service. Students from all universities are welcome to apply.
In the past Vega has supported sweat sensor for monitoring exercise efficacy, the development of next generation bioreactor and smart-home audio system for visually impaired people.
The deadline for applying is November 1st 2015.
