OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2015.  AVTOVAZ is working on 1.8-compatible engine and automatic transmissions for Lada XRAY - it was assembled six pilot copies of such cars the last week. Previously AvtoVAZ produced Lada XRAY with Nissan engines with a capacity of 114 hp, and then workers had to start the assembly of a hatchback with engines 106 and 123 hp.

As the company informed the portal "Kolesa.ru", the work on the project is progressing according to the approved schedule and the previously announced date of the serial production start of Lada XRAY is still relevant - December 15th, 2015. The car will be produced at the Togliatti site of AvtoVAZ on line B0, where it is also assembled Lada Largus, Renault Logan and Sandero, Nissan Almera.

Before the start of serial production AvtoVAZ plans to produce 600 units of new cars, which is more by 100 cars than it was announced earlier. It should have a positive impact on the quality of the commodity Lada XRAY. Sales of new items will start in February of 2016. According to project director, Oleg Grunenkov, the car will receive a four-wheel drive, but all the details will be revealed closer to the beginning of sales.
