The Spanish stock market traded €744.5 billion to September, up 21.4% year on year
The number of trades to the end of September reached 47.9 million, down 4.4% from the same month 2014. In September the number of trades reached 4.9 million, down 7% from the same month a year earlier.
As for the ETF segment, the trading volume in the first nine months of the year totalled €10 billion, up 41.5% from the same period a year earlier and higher than the figure for the entire year 2014. The trading volume recorded in September in this segment came in at €892 million, up 30% year on year. The number of ETF trades in the first nine months of the year totaled 134,067 up 75.3% from those registered in the first nine months of 2014. Number of trades in September reached 14,594 up 58% from the same month a year earlier.
The trading volume on the Warrants and Certificates market in the first nine months of the year reached €888.1 million, up 45.3% year-on-year. The trading volume in this market in September reached €69.8 million, up 8.1% from September 2014.
Futures and Options
The total trading volume in the Derivatives market in September reached 4.9 million contracts, up 94% from a year earlier.
It is worth mentioning the heavy trading in September in Index Futures, with 656,872 IBEX 35 Futures and 264,574 IBEX Mini Futures, up 17.4% and 15.2% respectively year on year.
Trading in Options on Stocks also grew in September, with 2.2 million contracts traded, up 11% year on year.
The open interest on IBEX 35 Futures at the end of September was 99,733 contracts, up 25% year-on-year.
Fixed Income
The total of new issues traded on Corporate Debt in September reached €10.1 billion, up 318% year-on-year. In the period from January to September the number of new issues reached €115.5 billion, up 47% from the same period a year earlier.
The trading volume in this market in September came in at €25.7 billion, down 54% year-on-year. The trading volume in the first nine months of the year reached €411.8 billion.
The trading volume on the SEND electronic platform in September came in at €56.5 million, up 47.3% on the previous month, while to the end of September it totalled €756.5 million, of which €245 million correspond to Public Debt, growing 11%.
