ATOMPROEKT presents its design technologies at the Global Forum in Finland
OREANDA-NEWS. October 02, 2015. ATOMPROEKT (part of ROSATOM, chief designer of Hanhikivi-1 NPP) presented Russian design technologies at the annual international conference “Global Forum. Shaping the Future 2015” being held in Oulu (Finland) on September 28-29.
“The design of nuclear facilities requires being referential in terms of solutions. Nevertheless, we should introduce and use innovative technologies in order to keep our projects competitive; this is why ATOMPROEKT specialists pay particular attention to the development of modelling and design technologies,” said Evgeny Obraztsov, the director of the R&D laboratory at ATOMPROEKT, while speaking at the conference.
Evgeny Obraztsov presented a report “Innovative Technologies in Nuclear Modelling and Designing”. He emphasized that ATOMPROEKT had achieved significant results in the feasibility study of technical solutions and safety of designed nuclear facilities due to the creation of the complex simulation suite "Virtual Power Unit of NPP" and the use of supercomputer technologies.
In October 2014, Rusatom Overseas, a general supplier of Hanhikivi-1 NPP, and ATOMPROEKT signed a contract for the development of a complete design package for Hanhikivi NPP (VVER-1200). The Saint-Petersburg institute will develop all the design documents that will allow the project owner – Fennovoima to obtain a license for the power unit construction.
Global Forum is one of the most important summits in the field of “Digital Community” and is often referred to as the “Davos of information and computer technologies”. The Forum is held annually in different cities worldwide and attracts more than 300 delegates – politicians, experts and business professionals from more than 30 countries.
