OREANDA-NEWS. October 02, 2015. Today at Coach & Bus Live 2015, ByteToken, Ltd., a global provider of mobile commerce and fare collection solutions for the mass transit industry, announced the company is entering into a strategic partnership to provide transit payment options with an integrated mobile app with One-Ticket Limited, a travel syndicate committed to offering unlimited and affordable bus and rail travel across more than 30 bus operators and the Abellio run Scotrail rail franchise in Edinburgh and East Central Scotland. Coach & Bus Live runs today through October 1 at the NEC Birmingham and ByteToken is located in booth T24.

ByteToken's mobile ticketing implementation will add to the paper based transit fares already offered with secure mobile payments. Initially, ByteToken will deploy a customized mobile ticketing solution with full back office support, compliance and security for One-Ticket's Bus + Bus ticket sales and redemption.

"One-Ticket has an extensive bus syndicate that already offers tremendous value to its ridership and using mobile ticketing pairs convenience with ease-of-use to offer riders a simple and eco-friendly option to purchase tickets," said Micah Bergdale, CEO of ByteToken. "This significant upgrade to mobile will benefit all members in the transit commerce ecosystem with high-quality transportation services tailored to align with riders' mobile shopping behavior."

The new One-Ticket app supports purchasing the affordable and unlimited one-day, 7-day and 28-day tickets along with return, multiple journey and annual tickets, and will be available for free download on iOS and Android in the first half of 2016 with additional functionality and features to be released throughout the year.

"We are excited to roll-out the initial implementation phase of One-Ticket's mobile ticketing solutions with ByteToken," said Stuart Lockhart, director at One-Ticket. "Upon the successful initial phase we hope to address adding additional travel-related functionality to strengthen the customer experience with it being possible to add combined tickets including, rail, event and attraction tickets in subsequent implementation phases."
