OOREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2015. Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 and 25 Roubles and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles of the Historical series “The 2000th Anniversary of Derbent’s foundation, the Republic of Dagestan” (catalogue numbers are 5111-0299,5115-0111 and 5216-0106 respectively);
  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles — “Lomonosov Moscow State University” (catalogue number 5111-0300);
  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles — “Marble Palace (A. Rinaldi)” (catalogue number 5115-0112) of the series “Architectural Masterpieces of Russia”.

Description of the coins of precious metals:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs), a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) dedicated to the 2000th Anniversary of Derbent’s foundation (the Republic of Dagestan) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denominations of the coins “ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE ROUBLES), “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and “ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ” (FIFTY ROUBLES) respectively and the year of issue “2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

  • of the silver 3 Roubles coin bears the relief image of the town’s old panorama. The inscription on the top along the circumference says “2000-ЛЕТИЕ ОСНОВАНИЯ ГОРОДА ДЕРБЕНТА” (THE 2000th ANNIVERSARY OF DERBENT’S FOUNDATION);
  • of the silver 25 Roubles coin bears the relief images of the town’s panorama, a decorative plate and crossed sabers — in the center of the coin; and people in national costumes on both sides of the coin. The inscription on the top along the circumference says “2000-ЛЕТИЕ ОСНОВАНИЯ ГОРОДА ДЕРБЕНТА” (THE 2000th ANNIVERSARY OF DERBENT’S FOUNDATION);
  • of the gold 50 Roubles coin bears the relief image of the Derbent’s coat of arms. The inscription along the circumference says “2000-ЛЕТИЕ ОСНОВАНИЯ ГОРОДА ДЕРБЕНТА” (THE 2000th ANNIVERSARY OF DERBENT’S FOUNDATION).

A silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles “Marble Palace (A. Rinaldi)” (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES) and the year of issue “2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse sideof the coin bears relief images of a portrait of the architect Antonio Rinaldi, the Marble Palace in Saint Petersburg and the Gatchina Palace in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg. The capital performed in colour and some decorative elements of the Marble Palace fence are depicted in the lower part of the coin. The inscription says “АНТОНИО РИНАЛЬДИ” (ANTONIO RINALDI).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value
