OREANDA-NEWS. Ministry of Industry considers investments in the organization of new auto manufacturers in Russian Federation as excessive under the current conditions, if they are not export-oriented. It was stated by First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Gleb Nikitin, by noting that in the current Russian realities automakers should think about how to orient the part of products for export.

The focus on domestic products is fraught with the fact that competition will increase, and the efficiency of these projects will be reduced, said the deputy minister, and he cited the example of successful project of the Japanese Mazda and Russian Sollers to build engine plant, export-oriented. He noted that other companies need to explore the possibilities of exports, and the government is ready to create such macroeconomic conditions, so the effectiveness of the production for export was higher, even by taking into account logistics costs. Ministry of Industry expects to prepare new proposals for additional support of the automotive industry for the coming week.

Korean carmaker Hyundai had already planned before the end of 2015 to send to Egypt and Lebanon 4000 cars Solaris, assembled in St. Petersburg. Since April of 2011 the plant delivers Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio cars to Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. Since August of 2015, the company exports Hyundai Solaris, assembled in Russia, outside the CIS. This year, taking into account the CIS countries, the group plans to deliver abroad 18 thousand cars.
