Konecranes wins another order in Canada
OREANDA-NEWS. Konecranes has received an order for 5 Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes from Termont Montreal Inc., a container terminal operator in the Port of Montreal, Canada. The cranes will be delivered in the second half of 2016.
Located at a strategic point where the Saint Lawrence River narrows upon its approach to the Great Lakes, the Port of Montreal is an important gateway to the industrial heartland of North America. Termont Montreal Inc. is one of two container terminal operators in the port. Seeking to improve container handling productivity and reliability, they have ordered 5 Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes from Konecranes.
The 5 RTGs on order are 16-wheel RTGs equipped with Konecranes’ patented Active Load Control system for maximum stacking productivity. They will have a lifting capacity of 60 tons, stacking 1-over-6 containers high and 6 rows plus truck lane wide. They will be equipped with Autosteering, a driver-assisting feature which keeps the crane on a pre-programmed, straight path, and Stack Collision Prevention. The cranes will also be equipped with TRUCONNECT® remote service that provides 24/7 access to a global network of support centers, offering expertise to help solve potential problems and reduce downtime.
