OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2015. Most drivers will have at least one accident in their lifetime, and while you can’t predict when you’ll get a smashed bumper or sideswiped door, you can prepare for what to do if and when it happens.

“Collisions are unfortunately a part of vehicle ownership that we all too often ignore until there is an accident,” said Mark Mandl, Collision Marketing manager, Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD). “We created our Collision Consumer Education Campaign to help consumers be prepared to navigate the often stressful collision repair process. In the end, we want them to make informed decisions and understand the importance of having quality original equipment manufacturer parts installed with the right repair procedures at a shop they trust.”

At the heart of the Collision Consumer Education Campaign is the newly updated Ford Collision site, www.takeagoodlook.com. It provides access to the Ford National Body Shop Network, which lists the Ford Dealerships that have collision shops, and Ford-approved reputable independent body shops based on your location. It also provides valuable information about the different types of aftermarket and salvage parts on the market and why consumers should avoid using them.

“This website is the best resource to find a shop that has the right tools, equipment, parts and techs trained to repair Ford vehicles,” said Mandl. “You’ll also find helpful tools, tips and articles that may help you avoid an accident before it happens. No one ever expects to have an accident, but you can avoid the surprise of getting the wrong parts and repairs.”
