Successful reforms of APC deregulation are in progress in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2015. This week the Law of Ukraine that continues deregulation in ports, initiated by the Government of Ukraine, came into force. It cancelled mandatory provision of the original of international veterinary certificate when unloading containers from ships. This will facilitate customer service in Ukrainian ports as well as allow businesses to save time and money.
Earlier in the ports inspectors of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service requested originals of international veterinary certificates at the time of unloading goods in containers from the vessel’s board. This was not always possible to satisfy this request because the document was sent to a consignee via mail and not always arrived at the time of the vessel’s entry. This led to significant delays of vehicles and additional losses for carriers, terminal operators and port administration.
"Successful implementation of the reform was preceded by a long and fruitful cooperation between the Agriculture Ministry and the Ministry of Infrastructure,” underlined Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksii Pavlenko.
