Specialists of IDGC of Centre took part in a large-scale exercise of emergency response in the Kursk region
The training was carried out in order to practice actions of the operating staff in an emergency in a limited time to meet the challenges of operational management.
According to the scenario as a result of strong winds there were massive breaks of power lines. Technological failures resulted in houses of Zheleznogorsky and Fatezhsky districts with a total population of more than 11 thousand people were left without light and heat. Socially important and industrial facilities were de-energized.
After receiving timely information about the failure and assessing the situation, the staff of Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo embarked on taking measures for circuits and modes aimed at preventing the development and elimination of the power failure. Operators coordinated the work of the operating mobile crews and staff of substations and exchanged information with EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region.
In close cooperation with colleagues from the branch of PJSC "FGC UES" - Chernozemnoye PMES, JSC "SO UES" Kursk Transmission Control Centre they managed to eliminate the conditional process violation. According to the heads of the training and supervising authorities all the actions of the operating personnel of Kurskenergo were performed in a professional and timely manner.
"The role of such training is enormous. Practicing actions by experts for the elimination of emergency in conditions as close as possible to real once again allows us to test their readiness to ensure the reliable operation of the power system of IDGC of Centre in the coming autumn and winter period," stressed First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.
As part of the exercise there was a review of logistical and technical reserves of the territorial subsystems. Kurskenergo was represented by a first responding mobile crew of Central Distribution Zone. In the event of a real emergency situation the branch is ready to send to the place of emergency 10 mobile crews, which have in their arsenal all terrain vehicles, derricks and diggers. The review of special vehicles and evaluation of equipment of first responding mobile crews of Housing and Energy in the region with needed to address emergency with special equipment was held by Head of the Regional Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia Ivan Lunev. He noted that "the composition, condition and possibility of forces and means of territorial subsystems in the Kursk region, the availability of material and financial reserves, including of the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre, allow us to solve problems of security and safety of life of the regional population."
