OREANDA-NEWS. According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-SPb”, for 8 months in 2015 the St. Petersburg car manufacturers Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and GM launched 194 800 cars, which is less by 20% than the last year. In August, the volume of production at three plants (GM from July 1st conserved) was 24,900 vehicles, which is less only by 4% than in August of 2014. This year, the decline in production less than 5% in one month was recorded in June, when the production of cars in St. Petersburg decreased by 3%.

Last month, the plant workers of Toyota had two weeks of the traditional summer vacation. Two other companies - Nissan and Hyundai - have completed their holidays just in the beginning of August. Also the last month, Hyundai plant produced the first 550 cars to be exported to Egypt and Lebanon.

"A year ago, GM plant did not work almost the whole August, which reflected in a slight drop of car production the last month”, - said General Director of “Auto-Dealer-SPb”, Michail Chaplygin. - While maintaining the current dynamics of production the St. Petersburg car industry has all the chances for the year to fall by at least 20%. "

Success of August increased sharply the share of St. Petersburg car industry in total Russian production of cars. At the end of eight months, the figure is 23%, whereas in January-July, it was 22%.

In August, the car plants of St. Petersburg produced 7 models of cars – they are Nissan Teana, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio. By the results of eight months of 2015 four of them are in the top-20 of the most popular cars in Russia (Solaris, Rio, Camry and X-Trail).
