The production of passenger cars dropped by 28.3% in August

OREANDA-NEWS. According to Rosstat, for the first eight months of 2015 the Russian assembly lines produced 843 000 passenger cars - it is less by 26% than the year before. Meanwhile, in August, it was produced about 69 thousand cars, which is less by 28.3% than a year ago.

It is worth noting that the last month the Circassian plant "Derways" for two weeks stopped the assembly line for the prevention of technological equipment, and the company "Volkswagen Group Rus" for a month stopped the assembly of Volkswagen and Skoda at the facilities of GAZ in connection with the falling demand in the Russian market. But Kaluga auto plant "PSMA Rus", on the contrary, in the middle of August, resumed the production of sedan Peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 Sedan after 3.5 months of inactivity.

We also add that the Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" the last month launched the assembly of an updated compact crossover KIA Soul. And the St. Petersburg plant Hyundai started the production of Solaris cars for exports to Egypt and Lebanon.
