TANECO Complex Sulfur Production Amounted to 100,000 metric tons
TANECO supplies granulated sulfur to Finland, where it is mainly used in paints and lacquers manufacturing. A considerable amount of the products is sold at the domestic market. For example, Zainsk Sugar Plant uses granulated sulfur to make sugar, while the Nefis Cosmetics Company uses to manufacture household chemicals.
Sulfur production at the TANECO Complex is designed and built with due regard for environmental norms and standards, and it is the biggest one in the country. This is the important processing chain of the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex designed to remove H2S from the petroleum products and to produce granulated sulfur. The hydrogen sulfide to elemental sulfur conversion prevents environmental pollution.
Over 270 metric tons of the products are loaded to the consumers daily; over 5,000 metric tons are loaded monthly and about 70 thousand metric tons annually. Project capacity is much bigger and allows producing about 280 thousand metric tons of granulated sulfur annually.
The production is based on WorleyParsons license with JSC Giprogazoochistka Russian design institute acting as a general design engineer, and Russian, South Korean, Dutch, Italian and French companies acting as the equipment suppliers.
The granulated sulfur produced at TANECO Complex complies with TU 2112-144-31323949-2010 requirements and has already proved to be a good commodity at the market. The JSC TANECO sulfur is the “Russia’s Top 100 Products” competition winner and it is among 100 best products of Russia in 2014 in the “Industrial and technical items” category.
