OREANDA-NEWS. New Solar, a non-integrated styrene monomer (SM) production plant in east China's Changzhou, has completed its scheduled maintenance and restarted output earlier this week.

The 250,000 t/yr production line operated by Dohow Chemicals was taken off line three weeks ago. The plant was originally expected to be shut for 40 days but the maintenance was completed ahead of schedule. Dohow expects to raise production back to normal levels later this week.

No further maintenance is expected at SM facilities operated by Dohow for the rest of the year. The company also operates another 250,000 t/yr SM line at the same site. It plans to start up its new 300,000 t/yr New Solar No.2 line in next year's first quarter, which will bring its total SM production capacity to 800,000 t/yr.
