OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2015. Since December 2013, Ford vehicles have driven 183 million cumulative electric kilometres saving an estimated 9.8 million litres (2.6 million gallons) of gasoline and almost 8 million kilograms (17.6 million pounds) in C02 emissions! Ford is doing its part for a cleaner and safer environment by offering customers the power of choice, from fuel-efficient gas engines to a full family of electrified vehicles.

Ford of Canada recently took the opportunity to share with consumers the future of electric vehicles at the seventh annual Electric Vehicle (EV) Conference and Trade Show in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Stephanie Janczak, manager of Sustainable Business Strategy, Ford Motor Company, attended on behalf of the company, and spoke to the future of electric vehicles, both its risks and its opportunities. Furthermore, Janczak spoke to the Energy Storage Technology – referencing Ford’s Mobility Experiments and MyFord Mobile, common EV myths, what goes into increased charge capacities and reducing charge times, among other things.

MyFord Mobile is an interesting, Ford-exclusive smart phone app that helps the user manage their charging process. The app can do everything from notify the user if their planned trip is in range, to monitor battery charge remotely, or find nearby charging stations. When it comes to ease and comfort, Ford considers it all to ensure the best driving experience.

Ford also encouraged participants to test some electric vehicles out for themselves, making the Focus Electric, Fusion Energi and C-MAX Energi available for test drives.
