OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2015. Nearly 30 staff from SSE Airtricity, Northern Ireland’s second largest energy supplier, will embark on a gruelling cycling challenge around Ulster next month, as they attempt to raise more than €25,000 for a number of local charities.

The SSE Tour of Ulster Cycle, will begin at the companies Gartnaneane Wind Farm in County Cavan on September 15th, passing by Bessy Bell Wind Farm in Omagh and finishing three days later on September 17th at Slieve Kirk Wind Park in County Derry~Londonderry. The 300km cycle will raise much needed funds for local charities, including Marie Curie NI, Irish Cancer Society, and Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.

Pat Tierney, SSE Tour of Ulster Organiser and Participant, commented:

“The Irish Cancer Society, Marie Curie Foundation and Alzheimer Society of Ireland are all inspiring charities which we will be supporting as part of our participation in the SSE Tour of Ulster cycle in September and the more people that know about these charities, the greater their impact. At SSE Airtricity, we’re proud to make a positive difference to the communities in which we live and work, and hopefully the SSE Tour of Ulster will do just that.”
