OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2015. The evolution of bilateral relations and the possibility to initiate new joint ICT projects were discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Information Technology and Communications Pavel Filip and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova Zhang Yinghong.

At the beginning of the meeting, Pavel Filip congratulated the high guest on his appointment as the Head of Chinese diplomacy in Chisinau, expressing the confidence that the Moldovan-Chinese relations will further record a positive dynamic. The Minister informed about the current situation in the field of Information and Communication Technology in the Republic of Moldova and policies promoted to ensure a legal framework as favorable as possible for the development of this sector. In this context, Pavel Filip emphasized the National Strategy “Digital Moldova 2020” and the package to increase the competitiveness of the IT industry. The last document is intended to liquidate the existing constraints on the IT market and create a competitive and attractive business environment for the development of the IT industry.

 “We are interested in Chinese model of development in the ICT sector and I hope that in the shortest time the memorandum on cooperation in the area of information and communication technology will be signed between the Ministries of the two countries. This document will provide new opportunities for cooperation”, the Minister Pavel Filip pointed out.

In turn, the Chinese ambassador said that in Moldova there is a dynamic information society, and the quality and Internet access speed impresses. The Head of Chinese diplomacy said that he will make considerable efforts for the development and deepening of bilateral relations and confirmed the willingness of Chinese party to support the Republic of Moldova in implementing ICT-related projects.
