OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2015. The Supervisory Board has nominated Carin Gorter (52) and Bas Brouwers (43) as members of the Executive Board of Rabobank Nederland. Both nominations will be submitted for regulatory review and for advice from the Works Council. Carin Gorter will become Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Bas Brouwers will take up the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The existing role of Chief Financial and Risk Officer, currently held by Bert Bruggink, will be split. As soon as the required approval processes are completed, further announcements will be made.

Wout Dekker, chairman of the Supervisory Board: “Rabobank, under Wiebe Draijer’s leadership, has started a transformation process and fundamental improvements have been set in motion. We are working on changes to our governance model and on a new Strategic Framework for the period 2016-2020. With Carin Gorter and Bas Brouwers on board, the Executive Board has a better-balanced composition and has the expertise and experience required to cope well with the challenges we face.”

Carin Gorter (1963) holds a degree in business economics and is a certified accountant. She started her career in 1987 with Moret, Ernst & Young. In 1994 she joined Rabobank as Senior Vice President Derivatives Operations. From 1997 to 2008 she held various roles at ABN AMRO Bank. Her last role was Senior Executive Vice President Head of Group Compliance, Security & Legal. From 2008, Carin Gorter has been a member of several Supervisory Boards within the financial services sector, including the cooperative insurance companies VGZ and TVM and at ING Group. Until April 2013, she was a member of the Dutch Banking Code Monitoring Committee.

Bas Brouwers (1972) holds a degree in business economics and is a certified accountant. He started his career in 1995 with KPMG. From 1998, Bas Brouwers worked at ING Group, where he held various positions in the field of Finance and Control. In the Netherlands he worked within leasing and at ING Direct among other things. From 2007 to 2013 he worked for ING at ING DiBa. Bas Brouwers was CFO and director of ING DiBa from 2008 to 2013. From 2013, he is CFO of ING Nederland.
