OREANDA-NEWS. Catalist caters to the needs of fast-growing enterprises. The quotation, trading and settlement of a stock listed on Catalist is identical to that of a stock listed on the Mainboard. There are no quantitative entry criteria required by the Singapore Exchange (SGX), and companies seeking a primary listing on Catalist must be brought to list by approved Sponsors via an IPO.

Catalist Sponsors

Sponsors will determine the suitability of applicants to be listed. A Full Sponsor can undertake introducing activities and continuing activities whereas a Continuing Sponsor can only undertake continuing activities.

Full Sponsors include CIMB Bank Berhad’s Singapore Branch, Canaccord Genuity Singapore, DBS Bank, Hong Leong Finance, Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore), Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, PrimePartners Corporate Finance, SAC Capital, UOB Kay Hian and United Overseas Bank. Continuing Sponsors include Asian Corporate Advisors, Provenance Capital, R & T Corporate Services, RHT Capital, Stamford Corporate Services and Xandar Capital.

FTSE ST Catalist Index

The FTSE ST Catalist Index comprises the companies listed on SGX Catalist. The index is a free float adjusted market-capitalisation weighted index representing the performance of sponsored companies in the SGX Catalist. There are no liquidity requirements for constituents of the FTSE ST Catalist Index..

As at the end of August, there were 147 constituents in the index. The new 14 additions will take the number of stocks in the index to 161 and based on 9 September market levels, boost the combined full market capitalisation of the index by 12.7% to \\$8.9 billion.

Among the 14 additions, the five stocks that have been most actively traded in the last three months were LionGold Corp, Joyas International Holdings, Polaris, Soo Kee Group and Singapore O&G. To assess turnover investors can access the 3-month average turnover of each company on SGX StockFacts.

Half of the 14 stocks printed their 12 month lows in August, including IX Biopharma, LHN, Imperium Crown, CMC Infocomm, Sinjia Land, Metech International and Joyas International Holdings.
