OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2015. IBM Corporation highly commends the Competitivity Package of IT industry, which provides an attractive and competitive environment to develop businesses in the IT area. The opinions and views have been expressed, today, during the meeting of the Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Pavel Filip, with IBM Director for Software, Christopher Caswell, and territory representative of the company for the Republic of Moldova, Victor Ciobanu.

” Upon the development of this set of policies we have taken into consideration the existing constraints in the area and the possibilities for their removal by adopting a deep and comprehensive approach”, Pavel Filip mentioned. He specified that the most difficult constraints for IT business relate to administrative bureaucracy, possible missuses and corruption acts by officials.  ”In the virtual IT parks there will be no room for such impediments. The residents shall have free access to create and develop by paying a single tax of 7%. Thus, the fiscal system shall be simplified to the maximum, and the companies shall make use of clear rules of activity. Following this, new business opportunities shall arise,” Pavel Filip emphasized.

It is to be mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has a well-developed infrastructure that shall subsequently provide operation and maintenance services of IT systems. The Minister referred also to the efforts undertaken to ensure the ICT sector with highly qualified specialists. In this regards, Pavel Filip thanked IBM Corporation and its partners for the contribution offered to create the Center of Excellency under the Technical University of Moldova. This Center shall become a platform for cooperation between the academic environment and the business sphere in order to educate highly qualified specialists for the IT sector.

IBM representatives have reconfirmed their availability to support these important projects for the IT sector. ” We find our objectives in the strategic objectives of the MITC and we are prepared to meet your requests to initiate new partnerships and develop ongoing businesses”, Christopher Caswell, the IBM Director for Software mentioned.

In his turn, the representative of IBM for the Republic of Moldova, Victor Ciobanu, specified:” IBM portfolio is wide and the company is open to continue support these projects by offering expertise, trainings, software, hardware and services. We would like to join the processes of supporting the companies in Moldova in order to improve cyber security and create new job opportunities”.
