MAN SE Supervisory Board appoints Drees as CEO
The MAN SE Supervisory Board has also appointed Jan-Henrik Lafrentz (49) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MAN SE. Mr. Lafrentz has been a member of the Executive Board at MAN Truck & Bus AG since 1 July 2014, responsible for finance, IT and legal affairs. Dr. Peter Park (50), who has provided substantial support on CFO issues at MAN SE, will now again be concentrating entirely on his office as Chief Financial Officer of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE.
Ulf Berkenhagen (54), Chief Procurement Officer of MAN SE and MAN Truck & Bus AG since 1 July 2012, will be resigning his seat on the Executive Board of MAN SE with effect from 30 September 2015. He will still retain his position as Chief Procurement Officer at MAN Truck & Bus AG. In July 2015, Mr. Berkenhagen was also appointed head of the procurement sector for all brands at Volkswagen Truck & Bus Holding.
Dr. Georg Pachta-Reyhofen (60) has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer of MAN SE with effect from 30 September 2015. "Following the continued successful development of the MAN Group as an internationally positioned enterprise focusing on transport and energy generation and MAN's integration into the Volkswagen Group, my most important assignments have meanwhile been completed. This has prompted me to place my executive board responsibilities in someone else's hands," stated Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen, explaining his decision. "Over 257 years, MAN has made unique engineering history in Europe and I am proud and grateful to have made a contribution to this. I wish MAN and its employees a successful future amid the existing global competition."
"On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I should like to thank Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen most sincerely for his many years of commitment and his outstanding work for MAN. He has successfully managed the company in an increasingly challenging market and competitive environment and continuously played a role in its integration into the Volkswagen Group," says Andreas Renschler.
"On behalf of the whole staff: We would like to thank Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen for all the years in which he has made a contribution to shaping the MAN Group together with us. We wish him good health and all the best for his future," says Saki Stimoniaris, Chairman of the Group Works Council of MAN.
Having obtained a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen joined the MAN Group in Vienna in 1986. After holding various management positions at, for instance, MAN A.S., Ankara (now MAN T?rkiye) and as head of engine development at MAN Commercial Vehicles in Nuremberg, he became Executive Board Member for Development at MAN Commercial Vehicles in Munich in 2001. Upon being appointed Chief Executive Officer of MAN Diesel, Augsburg in 2006, he was also appointed to the Executive Board of the Group holding company, MAN SE. Since January 2010, he has been Chief Executive Officer of MAN SE and, from January 2010 to August 2012, was also Chief Executive Office of MAN Truck & Bus AG. Dr. Pachta-Reyhofen will continue to serve the Volkswagen Group in an advisory capacity.
As of 1 October 2015, the MAN SE Executive Board will therefore consist of Joachim Drees (Chief Executive Officer), Jan-Henrik Lafrentz (Chief Financial Officer) and Josef Schelchshorn (Chief Human Resources Officer).
